In partnership with the SpeakUP Conference, the SpeakUP Military Award program will help raise up writers new or fairly new to the publishing world from the military.

Eligibility: Active military, retired military, reserves, military spouses, parents and children. Also, authors who have published three or less books through a non-traditional avenue or unpublished authors. Published in an anthology or compilation through a traditional house will not eliminate an author from participation if author has otherwise only published in a non-traditional manner. Traditionally published authors are not eligible.

Frequency: Yearly.

Submission Guidelines: 

• Original material, Material must be unpublished
  Times New Roman
• 12 point
  Double spaced
• Maximum word count: 1,200
  Minimum word count: 1,000
• Entrants will submit a one-page explanation of platform and marketing plans
  
• Deadline: First year: October 1, 2022.
